With the growing popularity of curling across the United States combined with the ongoing growth of the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex, amateur sports such as curling are making their mark on our area. Our reliance on renting ice time from a hockey focused facility has capped any opportunity for growth and expansion. In order to provide training and education to new and seasoned curlers, DFWCC is forced to take camps, and money, elsewhere. DFWCC partners with dedicated centers around the country to support DFWCC curlers’ endeavors.
In addition to rental costs at these centers, DFWCC members incur significant costs of airfare and lodging to continue training. DFWCC turns down countless requests for corporate and private events due to ice time limitations. Every dollar we turn away has an impact on the growth and future of curling in the DFW metroplex.
