DFW Curling

We are excited to host a USA Curling Level 1 Instructor Course on Sunday, January 25, from 11:00 AM–6:30 PM. The cost to participate is $60.

The Level 1 Instructor certification prepares USA Curling members to introduce the sport to newcomers in a way that is positive, fun, and safe. Certified Level 1 Instructors learn how to convert first-time participants into lifelong curlers and gain the skills needed to organize and support introductory events such as Learn-to-Curls.

The course focuses on creating a strong learning environment while teaching the fundamentals of the game, including:

• Delivery demonstration and instruction
• Sweeping basics
• Scoring explanation
• Identifying common flaws in delivery or sweeping technique
• Providing clear, constructive feedback to help participants improve

As Level 1 Instructors are often the first personal interaction a newcomer has with curling, confident and capable instructors are critical to the growth of our club and the sport nationwide. We greatly appreciate everyone who invests the time to become a trained, knowledgeable instructor—your impact reaches far beyond the ice.

Already done a Learn to Curl and want to get more instruction...? 

We have two beginner leagues coming up. This is a 3-week course that will teach you the ABC's of Curling (Alignment, Balance, and Curl).

• Thursday Beginner League - Every Thursday from March 19th to April 2nd. Register here.
• Friday Beginner League - Every Friday from March 27th to April 10th. Register here.

DFW Curling is proud to have representation on both the Men's and Women's sides at the Arena National Championships on October 14-19, 2025.

The Arena National Championships are regionally-based championships aimed at determining our top arena teams. An arena club is defined as a club that is a member in good standing of the USA Curling and conducts all its on-ice activities by renting ice from a facility that is not solely or predominantly used for curling.

Step 1:  To become a member of the DFW Curling Club you must first request an account ID.

Step 2:  Confirm your email address and wait for a website moderator to approve your account ID.

Step 3:  Login to your new account and select "Click to Renew" button and follow the instructions.
